Software as a Service (SaaS) Sales Engineer

Endeavor Commerce, a leading SaaS provider in the Configure Price Quote (CPQ) market is expanding. Endeavor is seeking Sales Engineer with custom SaaS demonstration and development experience. This is an internal position that requires no travel.

Ideal candidate provides technical support to the sales team on selected sales engagements. The candidate also interacts directly with prospects to help sales identify all key requirements in the CPQ product. He or she then leads, manages and in some cases builds out custom demonstrations. The candidate will manage 50% of an offshore developer’s time to work on all sales demonstrations. The candidate is responsible for the successful delivery of the custom demonstration. The candidate also provides Sales technical insight that drives implementation estimates. The candidate also participates in meetings with the Client Services team during the transition process from Sales to ensure sufficient knowledge transfer.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Oversees the quality and functionality available to sales in all “out of the box” demonstrations.
    • Meets with the sales team regularly to identify out of the box CPQ demonstration needs.
    • Surveys the inventory of assets and prioritizes with Sales which demonstrations are available and sets delivery date.
    • Assigns work to Offshore developer for out of the box demonstrations and manages that work daily through TFS.
    • QA’s all out of the box demonstrations making sure that those published are available and functioning as needed 24/7.
    • Publishes 6 month delivery schedules for sales demos to coordinate work and inform sales of what is coming and when.
  • Delivers all custom demonstrations
    • Works with Sales to qualify targeted prospects on custom demonstration needs/requirements.
    • Scopes out work for each custom demonstration against a defined timeline.
    • Assigns tasks to offshore resources to do as much of the work as possible and manage the delivery each day.
    • QA’s all deliveries from Offshore to ensure meets all requirements.
    • Participates over the web for prospect delivery.
  • Technical resource for sales needs
    • Participates in “technical” calls as needed when requested by Sales
    • Sources information from Development team when needed and delivers information to sales and prospect.

Candidate Characteristics

  • Sales Engineering Track record.
  • Understanding and experience working in IT solutions and services
  • Presentation & demonstration skills
  • Ability to translate and demonstrate technology features into business terms and benefits.
  • Operates independently (schedules appointments, assigns and manages work daily, brings in resources as needed)
  • Goal Oriented and desire to exceed expectations.
  • Familiarity with CPQ and CRM tools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 2–3 years of Sales Engineering experience
  • Technical knowledge of computing infrastructure in the following areas: SaaS, enterprise software applications (such as CRM, ERP,Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, SharePoint, Salesforce.com)
  • Ideal candidate will have solid understanding of business use cases and workflow solutions
  • MS SQL, Javascript and CSS experience desired.
  • College degree desired
